When The Kettle Boils
When the Kettle Boils is a black comedy about two best friends, Katie and Leon, stranded at a near-empty train station in Holland with no idea if another train will ever come. They could leave, but something -habit, hope, or maybe just stubbornness - keeps them waiting.
With nothing to do but talk, their conversation meanders through childhood memories, old grudges, and the kinds of thoughts no one ever says out loud. Banter turns to bickering, jokes give way to confessions, and the station starts to feel less like a stop and more like a limbo.
As the night wears on, tensions rise, past regrets bubble up, and unspoken truths begin to surface. Are they just waiting for a train, or for something neither of them wants to face?
When the Kettle Boils is currently in talks with theatre and production companies in Glasgow but has no official attachment yet.
Green Boots
Green Boots is a one-man bitter sweet monologue exploring life, terminal illness, and self love.
Murdo (Jocky Murdoch) is a normal guy. He works in a factory, never phones in sick and lives hand to mouth., His life, as far as he can remember, has been very much the same. Nothing exciting has ever happened, and Murdo has made peace with that.
It is only when, a mens sexual health visit takes place in his work, he is pressured to explore and learn so much about himself than he ever thought he would.
Murdo, a once average and normal guy, discovers he only has 3-months to live and decides that he is just gonna do it. But he isn’t sure what…
Green Boots is an on-going development exploring working-class men in Scotland, masculinity and what it means to be a man in contemporary Scotland.
Cosmic Crumble
Cosmic Crumble was originally commissioned and produced by Imagine That Performing Arts in 2024.
This work is now being developed into a children’s book and will hopefully undertake its publishing process in the latter half of 2025. Cormac is hopeful it acts as a resource in Scottish Primary Schools as an explorative text.
When the starship "Rocket" sputters and dies, the Captain and their crew find themselves stranded in the vast emptiness. Panic sets in as they search for answers, but the only thing they discover is a series of strange and crumbly clues. Is it a mischievous space gremlin? Or something far more sinister? Maybe it’s the Evil Queen of Space and Time that turns her enemies into sweet confectionary…
This work is currently seeking an illustrator to collaborate with Cormac.
